3. Application Procedure and Required Documents

(1) Application Registration Method
Applicants must complete the registration through the online application site and submit the required documents by post.

(2) Required Documents
Among the documents listed below, those designated as "University-Specified Forms" must be downloaded and printed from the Undergraduate Admission for International Students page on the university's website.

1 Application Form Designated university format After completing the application data registration and paying the examination fee on the online application site, download and print the form from your My Page. For details, refer to the "Online Application Guide" at the end of this document.
2 Application Form University-Specified Form Fill in the required fields.
3 Academic Transcript from the High School of Origin No Specific Format Submit the original (official document) issued by the high school of origin within one year from the application date. Additionally, it must meet the following requirements:
(1) The date of issuance must be stated.
(2) Grades for the entire enrollment period must be included.
(3) The document must be written in Japanese or English.※1
※Applicants who graduated from a high school (secondary school) in China may submit the "Academic Transcript Verification" (English version) issued by the China Higher Education Student Information Network (CHSI) as a substitute for the academic transcript. ※2
4 Certificate of Graduation or Expected Graduation from the High School of Origin ※Diplomas are not acceptable
 
No Specific Format Submit the original (official document) issued by the high school of origin within one year from the application date. Additionally, it must meet the following requirements:
(1) The date of issuance must be stated.
(2) The document must be written in Japanese or English. ※1
※Applicants who graduated from a high school (secondary school) in China ay submit the "Secondary Education Qualification Verification" (English version) issued by the China Higher Education Student Information Network (CHSI) as a substitute for the certificate. ※2
5 Certificate of Attendance or Academic Transcript from the Enrolled School No prescribed format Only those who meet either condition (1) or (2) below are required to submit this document.
(1) Those enrolled in a Japanese language school or a Japanese language course at a vocational school
Submit a Certificate of Attendance issued by the Japanese language school or similar institution where you are currently enrolled.
Issuance date: On or after July 1, 2024
Required information: Number of class days, number of days attended, and attendance rate
(2) International students enrolled in other educational institutions (such as specialized training colleges, junior colleges, universities, etc.)
●Submit an Academic Transcript issued by the school where you are currently enrolled.
Issuance date: On or after July 1, 2024 There is no prescribed format, so the document can be submitted in the format used by each school.
6 Copy of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) Score Report or Score Confirmation Document

A4 size
No prescribed format Please submit one copy of the Score Report or Score Confirmation Document.
※Check the required subjects for the department or academic field you are applying for in item 4 "Application Eligibility" under "Required Subjects for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students".
●※Only applicants who took all subjects in Japanese are eligible to apply.
7 Financial Support Plan Designated university format ●After the university grants admission, you must prepare a Financial Support Plan as part of the application documents for the status of residence , which will be submitted to the Immigration Services Agency. This plan should clearly outline how tuition and living expenses will be covered.
●Research the necessary expenses after enrolling and complete the form according to the university's designated format.
※ [Reference] The average monthly expenses for privately funded international students at private universities: 158,000 JPY

8 Transaction Statement, Bank Balance Certificate (Deposit Certificate), or Scholarship Receipt Certificate No prescribed format The required certificate differs depending on the financial sponsor. This document must be attached to the Financial Support Plan. Submit the appropriate certificate according to the financial support method stated in the Financial Support Plan. Be sure to carefully review the Financial Support Plan details. Submit an original document (not a copy) issued on or after July 1, 2024.

※Must include all bank accounts opened at financial institutions in Japan.
※If the account is with Japan Post Bank (Yucho Bank), submit a Bank Balance Certificate or Deposit/Withdrawal Certificate instead of a Transaction Statement.
(2) If parents or relatives residing in the applicants home country are the financial sponsors

【Important Notes】If the financial sponsor resides overseas at the time of application, submit a certificate for a bank account in their country. Certificates must be written in Japanese or English.
9 Copy of Residence Card No prescribed format Submit a copy of both sides of your Residence Card.
※ You must hold a valid "Student" residence status in Japan at the time of application.
10 Application Document Checklist Designated university format Use the checklist to confirm that all required documents are complete and accurate before submitting them.

※1 If the original document is in a language other than Japanese or English, a Japanese or English translation certified by a public institution or a Japanese language school must be submitted along with the original document. The translated document must include the name of the translating organization, the translator's name, and an official seal. Translations by the applicant themselves will not be accepted.
※2 For the "Secondary School Student Transcript Certification" and "Secondary Education Academic Certification" issued by the China Higher Education Student Information Network (CSHI), printed copies from a printer are acceptable.

(3) Submission Method
①Print the "Address Label" from the My Page section of the online application site. (It will be printed along with "Application Form.)
②Attach the "Address Label" to an envelope, which you must prepare by yourself.
③Enclose all application documents in the envelope and send them via Simplified Registered Express Mail from a post office counter.

(4) Important Notes on Submission Documents
①For documents requiring handwritten entries, the applicant must fill them out clearly using block letters (kanji or katakana) or the alphabet (as written in the passport) with a black ballpoint pen. Do not use pencils or erasable pens.
②If you make a mistake when filling out the application documents, do not use correction fluid or tape. Instead, draw a double line (=) through the incorrect text, stamp (or sign) next to it, and write the correct information in the margin.
③Submit original (official) documents for all required certificates.
If submitting an original document is not possible, provide a Certified True Copy (a certified document verifying that it is identical to the original).
If the original document is in a language other than Japanese or English, attach a certified Japanese or English translation issued by a public institution or Japanese language school along with the original document. The translation must include the name of the translating organization, translator’s name, and official seal. Translations done by the applicant will not be accepted.
④All application documents must be submitted within the designated application period. If there are missing or incomplete documents, the application will not be accepted. The application deadline will not be extended, so make sure to submit documents well in advance.
⑤All certificates must have been issued within one year before the application date, unless otherwise specified (copies are not accepted). However, for documents that cannot be reissued, the issuance date is not restricted.
⑥Once submitted, application documents cannot be changed or returned.
⑦If false information or fraudulent declarations are found in the application documents, admission may be revoked.
⑧Additional documents may be requested beyond the required submission documents.

(5) Payment of the Entrance Examination Fee
Entrance examination fee: 35,000 JPY
①During online application, payment can be made via convenience store, credit card, or ATM that accepts Pay-easy payment. A separate service fee will be required for each payment method. The service fee amount is available on the online application site.

(6) Issuance and Printing of the Examination Admission Ticket
①After the issuance date of the examination admission ticket, applicants must download and print it themselves (A4 size, either black-and-white or color is acceptable). The university will not mail the admission ticket.
②The printed admission ticket must be brought on the selection day. (If lost, it can be reprinted.)

4. Application Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions (1) to (4) and must be at least 18 years old as of April 1, 2025.
(1)Applicants must hold only a nationality other than Japan and must have already obtained the "Student" residence status at the time of application.

(2)Applicants must have sufficient Japanese language proficiency to pursue studies and research at the university.

(3)Applicants must have taken the "Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students" (administered by the Japan Student Services Organization) in either the second session of the 2022 academic year, the first session of the 2023 academic year, the second session of the 2023 academic year, or the first session of the 2024 academic year, and must have taken the subjects specified in the table below. Additionally, the examination must have been taken entirely in Japanese.

(4)Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
①Applicants who have completed a 12-year school education curriculum in a foreign country or are expected to complete it by March 2025. (If the curriculum is less than 12 years, applicants must have also completed or be expected to complete a preparatory education course designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan by March 2025.)
②Applicants who have completed a course at a school equivalent to a high school that meets requirements such as being recognized as having completed an 11-year or longer curriculum designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan.
③Applicants who hold an international university entrance qualification such as the International Baccalaureate, Abitur, Baccalauréat, GCE A-Level, International A-Level, or European Baccalaureate.
④Applicants who have completed a 12-year curriculum at an educational institution accredited by an international evaluation organization (WASC, CIS, ACSI, NEASC, Cognia).
⑤Applicants who are recognized by the university as having application eligibility equivalent to or higher than those mentioned above. (A Preliminary Screening is required in this case.)
(Note) Applicants who have attended or are currently attending schools located in Japan (including foreign schools and international schools) for any part of their educational curriculum (elementary and secondary education) required to meet the above application eligibility conditions ① to ⑤ are not eligible to apply. However, applicants who have attended a preparatory education course designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan, or those who have attended or are currently attending schools in Japan after meeting the application eligibility requirements, are eligible to apply.
